Chickpea Food Truck
Very few cities have such a revered and beloved food truck scene as Vancouver. Topping the lineup of mobile kitchens is Chickpea (ilovechickpea.ca), which dishes out delicious vegetarian comfort food with a Mediterranean twist. Most of Chickpea’s ingredients are organic and all of their dishes can be made gluten-free/vegan. Diners can choose how they would like their meal presented – stuffed into a fresh, pillowy pita, on top of organic hummus, tossed in a salad, or in a platter accompanied by an assortment of tasty veggies. From there you just choose your main and sauces. So get ready to dig in…you’ll be hooked after the first bite!
Miku
Located beside the historic Canada Place, Miku (200 Granville St.) is praised for its inspiring Aburi sushi, as well as its Japanese-inspired menu that incorporates a well-curated menu highlighting an array of delicious seafood, noodle, chicken, and beef dishes. While embracing environmental and social responsibility, the restaurant prides itself on connecting people through its comfortable spaces, delicious foods and memorable experiences. Miku combines traditional Japanese flavors and techniques with local, West Coast elements to create a truly unique dining experience enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. Innovative desserts are made in house by the restaurant’s pastry team to create the perfect ending to an unrivaled culinary experience.
Blue Water Cafe
Celebrating the ocean’s harvest, Blue Water Cafe is Vancouver’s definitive destination for seafood, widely known for its excellence in celebrating the extraordinary flavors of British Columbia. Drawing on lengthy relationships with trusted suppliers, executive chef Frank Pabst’s disciplined technique showcases local fin and shell fish, as well as his legendary “Seafood Tower.” Pabst’s repertoire also delves deeper, with his critically-acclaimed “Unsung Heroes” menu which features other delicious, but often overlooked fish, many of which can also be found at the restaurant’s outstanding Raw Bar. The restaurant is recommended by the Vancouver Aquarium for offering Ocean Friendly Seafood choices.
